World Curlew Day

The beautiful art work by Junior Tidy Towns, on Lilliput Way celebrates the iconic Curlew today April 21^st.

It is such a distinctive bird with its long bill, long legs and haunting call. The Curlew is very much part of our rich culture and heritage. Sadly, it is one of Ireland’s most threatened birds due to the loss of habitat. We are aware we have Curlew in our area. We should be proud of our diverse wildlife and do everything we can to preserve it for future generations to enjoy.
