Jim and Maria Casey came to the school to officially present the trees. Jim praised the school for the wonderful work they were doing for nature, biodiversity and climate change. He had heard many stories about the great work being done in the school. He asked the children to keep up the great work into the future.

The school prepared a beautiful banner which was presented to Jim and Maria in appreciation for the trees.

Colette Brennan, Principal thanked Casey’s for the wonderful donation and said the school enjoyed working with Tidy Towns.  As a gesture of appreciation Colette presented Jim, Maria, Ned, Lena and Eileen with St Brigid’s Crosses which the children had made in school last week. The pupils had gathered the rushes from the site of the new Outdoor Classroom/ Community  Garden. This very old traditional gift  was very much appreciated by the recipients,  Miss O Connor and Miss Whyte informed the group that earlier in the day, Fr Sean Beirne had blessed the crosses with Holy Water from Lourdes.
