Silver -washed Fritillary

We are delighted to share two records of this large, dashing, graceful butterfly in Kilteevan.

This butterfly feeds on our wild violets, particularly on the Common Dog-violet. They also feed on Brambles Knapweed, Ragwort, Thistles and Water mint.
