Great News for Kilteevan Tidy Towns

 

Marsh Fritillary a rare, beautiful and protected butterfly was recorded in Cloonlarge Kilteevan today (July 7th 2019) by a local very vigilant citizen scientist and member of Kilteevan Tidy Towns. The record has been submitted to Biodiversity Ireland.

The presence of this butterfly highlights and reinforces the importance of the work Kilteevan Tidy Towns are doing in protecting this habitat. The group is currently engaged in Biodiversity Planning for Kilteevan.

Biodiversity Planning in Kilteevan

Members of Kilteevan Tidy Towns have recently undertaken Biodiversity Training provided by Roscommon LEADER Partnership Company.   Kilteevan Tidy Towns is currently developing a Biodiversity Plan with the support of Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants. As part of the planning consultation process, we are inviting people in the Kilteevan area, interested in biodiversity to complete and return the survey form below by July 10th 2019.
