Féile Samhraidh Kilteevan

Next weekend, June 21st and 22nd  marks one of the highlights of our community social calendar.  We are celebrating the first Féile Samhraidh Kilteevan.

We wish to invite you all to join in the fun. Thankfully the weather is promised fine and dry. If we get your support this year, our Féile could become a bigger and better event in 2015.

Just a few points to note.

You do not need any previous art experience to participate in the Art Workshops. You will be guided through the process and all materials will be supplied. We are going to create two pieces of community art (young people and adult) to hang in Kilteevan Community Centre. We will be making yet another little piece of history in Kilteevan. Make sure your mark is on it!

Please note Saturday June 21st is designated Red and Black Night in Kilteevan . We want you all to get into the spirit of the Féile so wear our community colours to our fun Tug- of -War and the Mid Summer Bonfire. We have so much to celebrate in Kilteevan. Come on Everybody!

Kilteevan Calling and Reconnecting

Between 1946 and 1961, a half a million people left Ireland. In 1890, four out of every ten people born in Ireland were living abroad. Do you have Kilteevan roots? Are you part of Kilteevan’s diaspora?

If so we share a common history and a special bond of place.

Following on the success of Kilteevan Gathering in 2013, we want to continue to celebrate the living heritage of Ireland as well as that of the past.

Since August 2013, we are on the World Wide Web so technology is now offering us increased opportunities to connect and network with you.

We would like to build a database of Kilteevan’s diaspora for the purpose of keeping you up to date with news and events from home.

For example, we want to invite you to

Féile Samhraidh, Kilteevan, Mid- Summer Festival June 21st and 22nd. 2014.

The full programme of events will follow.

Please contact us at [email protected] with your name, country, email address and any details you wish to share with us and you will become part of our virtual community.
