Result 2nd. May Draw

Congratulations to Linda Carroll Ballinaboy, Kilteevan who won €402 in St. Joseph's 50/50 draw last night(May 2nd).

The next draw will take place Saturday night (May 9th) in Paddy Finns.

Community Spirit at its Best

Since 8.00 am this morning (2 May 2015), Kilteevan Tidy Towns volunteers are busy bringing about change in our community. Getting to today's stage involved a lot of hard work, plannning and  preparation. Health and safety issues also had to be taken on board.

This type of commitment on a bank holiday weekend, in inclement weather, is to say the least, heart-warming and inspiring.  Keep up the wonderful work.

Thank you to everyone in the community who is supporting this worthwhile initiative.

Thanks also to Roscommon Co Council for all their help and support.

Lady’s Smock / Cuckoo Flower in bloom in Kilteevan.

Lady's Smock /Cuckoo-flower /or in Irish Biolar gréagáin (Cardamine pratensis)

These beautiful large white to pinkish flowers are plentiful in Kilteevan's damp meadows this week

( 27th. April 2015).

It’s amazing how the Lady’s Smock and the cuckoo bird arrive together annually.

It is a native plant and belongs to the large family Brassicaceae.

It is a larval foodplant of the Orange-tip butterfly below photographed in Kilteevan in June 2014.

We look forward to his return in a few weeks time.
