The very best of luck to our Rossie Senior Team who take on Cavan
in the Qualifier Series in Breffini Park Cavan tomorrow evening (July 12th) at 6.00pm

The boys from Kilteevan National School came out on top of a 27 school 7 a side soccer competition and brought home the trophy for the first time in history, when they defeated St John’s National School 5 nil in the final in Donamon.
It was the culmination of a wonderful effort from the boys which saw them win all 4 games in the qualifying tournament scoring 21 goals and conceding 0 goals to top their group and advance to the finals day.
On a very hot and sunny day in Donamon, finals day began with a tightly fought 1 nil victory with the only goal of the game being scored by Ciaran Coyle.
That victory was followed by impressive 3 nil and 4 nil victories to again top their group and ensure Kilteevan advanced to the semi final where the victors would advance to the A final and runners up advance to the B final.
In a tight and fiercely contested semi final, Niall Brennan scored the only goal of the game to ensure Kilteevan had the opportunity to go one better than last year, when they narrowly lost out in the A final.
The final began against a talented St John’s team with Kilteevan creating opportunities and continuing to defend very well aiming to continue the trend of not conceding any goals so far in the tournament.
Shortly before half time Robert Owens crossed the ball from the left wing and Erik Horvath connected superbly to score the first goal and send Kilteevan into half time ahead.
With added confidence, intensity and a sheer will to win Kilteevan stepped up a gear in the second half and saw Robert Owens score a superb hat-trick to overwhelm a gallant St John’s team.
The final was completed with a stunning goal from Callum Coughlan to round off a 5 nil victory and complete a remarkable record for goalkeeper Noah Fallon of an amazing 9 consecutive clean sheets over the qualifying and finals tournaments.
The victorious team were presented with their medals FAI President Paddy McCaul in the Community Centre last Wednesday night.
Congratulations to squad, their trainer Anthony Owens and their teachers Mrs Brennan and Ms Giblin.

Between 1946 and 1961, a half a million people left Ireland. In 1890, four out of every ten people born in Ireland were living abroad. Do you have Kilteevan roots? Are you part of Kilteevan’s diaspora?
If so we share a common history and a special bond of place.
Following on the success of Kilteevan Gathering in 2013, we want to continue to celebrate the living heritage of Ireland as well as that of the past.
Since August 2013, we are on the World Wide Web so technology is now offering us increased opportunities to connect and network with you.
We would like to build a database of Kilteevan’s diaspora for the purpose of keeping you up to date with news and events from home.
For example, we want to invite you to
Féile Samhraidh, Kilteevan, Mid- Summer Festival June 21st and 22nd. 2014.
The full programme of events will follow.
Please contact us at [email protected] with your name, country, email address and any details you wish to share with us and you will become part of our virtual community.

Well done James!

Kilteevan Heritage Trail Walk for Roscommon Lamb Festival 2014 was most successful last night. Weather conditions were ideal.
Twenty six people completed the walk. Feedback from all participants was very positive .Everyone went home with a greater appreciation of Kilteevan’s rich history and heritage.
A big thank you to Eoghan Brennan of Paddy Finns. Thank you Eoghan for marking the walk, for providing the very wise high vis jackets and for sponsoring the water and the most welcome tea and scones at the end. You’re a star!
Sincere thanks also to Roscommon County Council and to our volunteers who ensured our Heritage Trail was litter free on the night.
More photos will follow at a later date.
We wish the very best of luck to Roscommon in the All Ireland under 21 Final today.
