Kilteevan to enter the Tidy Towns Competition in 2015

Following a recent Community meeting on February 9th, and a subsequent meeting of Kilteevan Community Development Group Limited on February 19th, a decision was taken to enter Kilteevan in the Tidy Towns competition in 2015.

Tidy Towns is about local people coming together to improve their own area.  The competition inspires a huge amount of voluntary effort in towns and villages across the country.  The effort of volunteers not only improves the environment in which we live, but also helps cement community relations and builds pride in our community.

A large group of people have expressed interest and have volunteered to be part of this worthwhile development of our community.  The first planning meeting will take place on Monday, 9th March at 8.00 pm in the Community Centre, and we would like to invite you to attend if you have an interest in becoming involved with this project.  A Tidy Towns committee will be formed at the meeting.  If you cannot attend, watch out for news on our website and follow us on Facebook.

The competition is about something Kilteevan is blessed with.  That is, quite simply, Community Spirit.  We are asking everyone in the community to embrace our participation in the project and let Kilteevan shine.
