All Roads lead to the Village this Saturday as we host our "Kilteevan Factor Fesitval"!

This year we are introducing a festival where we will put the whole community through their paces in a series of challenges but there is a twist...

…You will be playing for your townland!

Based on the much loved Kyrpton Factor we have created a series of tasks that will test your skill, strength, agility and brainpower over a two day period. We have created some thing to suit all ages and abilities so there’s no excuse not to come down to the village!

All the excitement culminates on Saturday evening with a Fun Run/Walk followed by a street party and Barbeque at the Community Centre. We want to invoke a Street Party feel where we can catch up with our neighbours (hopefully in the Sunshine!)

Saturday 23^rd July

The Massive Kids Party!

Expect Puppet Shows, Magicians, Bouncy Castles and lots of games and fun as we create a magical world for kids.

The Junior Treasure Hunt Challenge

A series of questions, Challenges lie between you and the prize. From ages 8-12.

Free- Meet at Graveyard. 3.00pm

Car Treasure Hunt Challenge

Follow a series of clues around the highways and byways of the Village whilst trying to work out our cunning riddles. This is not a test of speed!

Free- Meet at Community Centre. 4pm

The Physical Challenge- The Fun Run/Walk

The fresh air beckons as we take to the roads for a nice walk and run. Runners to the front to win the pride of your town land!

The Big Kilteevan Street Party & Barbeque

After all the Challenges of the last few Days it’s time to relax and have a party. We are hosting an outdoor party and Barbeque (in the centre if raining!) with lots of Fun for the young and young at heart. If you would like to make a salad or a bake we won’t say no and encourage all present to share their goodies.

The Great Kilteevan Apple Tart Bake Off!

We are inviting all the Bakers to get their Apple Peelers and Enamel Plates out and bake the best apple tart in the parish! We have a special judge to taste your wares!

The Kilteevan Factor Prize Giving!

After all the activity we come to the very important matter of the winners of each of the challenges and the announcement of the victorious townland that will claim the 2016 title!

Welcome to the April Edition of the Local!
In this editon... Joe Davis and Joe Foxe's Birthday, Daffodil Day, Commemoration Day at Kilteevan National School, A sad day for the village, Engagements for Eilish and Deirdre and much much more. Also Introducing The Local - Extra which features all the pictures that we didn't have room for!

There was a great turnout at the annual St. Joseph's Table Quiz in Paddy Finns on Friday 18th March with 26 Tables clambering for a win. 10 rounds of questions, a picture round and 10 dingbats later a winner all right was declared with Linda Carroll, Paddy Smyth, Aidan Mulry and John Gaynor taking the top prize. There was a tie for second with two teams splitting the prize. The first table was made up of Frank Gilleran, Alison Cullivan, Liam McManus and John Devany on one team and the second team made up of Will Keane, Pauric Murphy, Johnny Keeley and Eileen Keeley. The Quiz was Follow by a bumper raffle. St Jospeh's would like to thank all the prize sponsors, question markers and all those who attended. A total of €1800 was raised on the night.
