Plastic Free Roscommon -Zero Waste Market

Our Zero Waste Market will take place in Gleeson’s Restaurant & Rooms on Sunday 17th February from 12pm-5pm as part of the Explore and Restore weekend.

There will be a fantastic range of zero waste, package-free, reusable, plastic free and eco-friendly items for sale.

There will be no disposable, single-use items including shopping bags available at the market so shoppers will be asked to bring their own reusable bags and containers for purchases.

The market is inspired by the Zero Waste Ireland Facebook group and the Zero Waste Festival. This will be a great event for anyone who wishes to minimise waste and their environmental impact.

The zero waste movement is based around the 5Rs - REFUSE what you don’t need, REDUCE what you do have to buy, REUSE what is already available, RECYCLE what can’t be used anymore and ROT (compost) the rest.
