Thanks to the work of 7 young members of Kilteevan Tidy Towns, one thousand people in Roscommon have signed a pledge not to use plastic straws.

The organisation believes that by working together, the community can be part of a solution, to some of our environmental problems.

Kilteevan Tidy Towns, Roscommon Co Council and Plastic Free Roscommon. worked together on this project to begin the process to rid  Roscommon from single-use unnecessary plastic items.

The project drew to a close at a Tidy Towns meeting in Kilteevan Community Centre on March 5^th when Sophie Coen and Éabha Dolan proudly handed over the signatures to Marguerite Croghan (Secretary) and Hugh Brennnan (Treasurer).

Major credit is due to all members of the team;

James Mooney, Kevin Fannon, Kieran Coyle, Sophie Coen, Éabha Dolan, Adam Lalwani, and Liam Egan.

We look forward to their next project which is already hatching in Kilteevan!!

A table Quiz will be held in Paddy Finns Saturday 30th March at 9pm. Get those thinking caps on! There will be on a raffle on the night too.

Coffee Morning in aid of Daffodil Day will be held in Kilteevan Community Centre after 10.45 am on Sunday 24th March.
