Kilteevan NS win 2 teacher school 7 a side Soccer Title

Kilteevan National School won the 2015 County Roscommon 2 Teacher 7-a-side soccer A title for the second year in a row, when they defeated Granlahan to win the trophy on June 19th.

The final match was played in the Roscommon and District Soccer League grounds in Lecarrow and saw Kilteevan come from behind to score 2 late goals to claim victory in dramatic fashion.

It was only the second time in 7 matches that Kilteevan had conceded any goals  on the road to the title, after a memorable qualifying campaign which included 5-0 victories (twice) a successful penalty shoot out after a 3-3 draw and tight 1 nil and 2 nil victories on semi finals day.

The final drama came when Éabha Dolan steered the equalising goal high into the net and Callum Coughlan scored a tremendous late winning goal to send the large crowd of Kilteevan supporters into ecstatic celebrations.

Team captain Robert Owens collected the trophy after driving the team on from midfield at the end of a hectic 8 days which saw the panel retain County Hurling titles and win the County Football crown to complete a memorable treble.

Huge congratulations to all involved on what must surely be a unique achievement for such a small school as Kilteevan.
