WEEE Ireland Schools Battery Recycling Challenge

kilteevan-national-school-batteries

Staff and pupils of Kilteevan NS are taking part in the WEEE Ireland Schools Battery Recycling Challenge. We need your help with collecting used batteries, so that we can be in with a chance of winning a €2,000 Sports Equipment Voucher for our school!

n your home, there could be used batteries hiding in:

 - Christmas Tree Lights

- Old Toys

- Outdoor Decorations

- Watches

- Talking Teddies/Dolls

- Computer Mice and Keyboards

- Electric Toothbrushes or razors

- Battery powered candles

- Old TV Remote Controls

- Old radios

Please don't put them in a drawer and PLEASE DON'T PUT THEM IN THE BIN! Give them to a pupil of Kilteevan National School or drop them in to our school's shelter and we will happily add them to our collection for recycling.

Did you know that the precious metals and materials recovered from used batteries can be recycled to make lots of new items e.g. spectacle frames, pots and pans to bikes?!

By recycling your used batteries, you will also be supporting LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. Every battery you recycle goes towards a donation fund to support their vital work.

Please help us if you can!
